It's still unbearably hot in montreal but it's gotten so much better! yay! There is an actual breeze in the morning and evenings and even during the day if your lucky. So I can finally start wearing real clothes, instead of teeny tiny shorts and sheer loose tank tops. If you too have decided to shelve the barely there outfits for a bit, it's important to wear breathable fabrics. Breathable fabrics are those which absorb the moisture from the skin to the surface of the fabric so that the moisture can then be easily evaporated. The best and easily accessible breathable fabrics are cotton, linen and rayon (despite being a man made fibre). When choosing these materials stay away from blends. Rayon is commonly blended with polyester, nylon or acrylic. The common fabrics to avoid are polyester, nylon, silk.
Remember to keep your clothes loose because tight fitting clothes are not breathable no matter what the fabric is. Also, iron your clothes because the disadvantage of these wonderfully breathable fabrics is that they wrinkle very easily.
